Brief History of Mercy Schools
Why Choose Mercy Schools
Mercy Group of Schools, Ibadan, was founded in 1993 by visionary founders with a deep commitment to providing quality education in a nurturing, disciplined, and value-driven environment.
The journey began as Mercy Coaching Centre at Sharp Corner, Ibadan, where a passion for academic excellence and student success laid the foundation for what would become one of Ibadan's respected private schools. As enrolment increased, the school relocated in 1996 to a rented apartment along Joyce B Road, Oke-Ado, where it officially commenced as Mercy Group of Schools with just six pupils.
Driven by the trust and support of parents and the community, the school continued to grow steadily. In 2001, Mercy Schools moved into its permanent campus at 99 Joyce B Road, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, providing improved facilities and an even better learning environment for its students. Building on this success, the Secondary School was established in 2008, enabling Mercy Schools to offer a complete educational journey from Nursery through Secondary education.
Since opening its doors in 1993, over 2,000 students have passed through the gates of Mercy Schools. Many of our alumni have gone on to excel in higher education and now occupy respected positions across various professions, making meaningful contributions to society both within Nigeria and around the world.
Today, Mercy Schools Ibadan remains committed to the vision upon which it was founded. Through experienced teachers, a supportive learning environment, and a dedication to continuous improvement, we continue to prepare every child for academic excellence, strong character, responsible leadership, and lifelong success.
